Since September 2020, the Taliban has been engaged in negotiations with the Afghan government in Qatar to determine the future of Afghanistan.
Afghanistan, officially known as the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, is a landlocked country located at the intersection of Central and South Asia. Its largest and most influential ethnic group is the Pashtuns, after whom the country is named. Afghanistan has been the site of numerous wars and conflicts throughout its history, including the Soviet-Afghan War and the ongoing War in Afghanistan.
In recent years, a large number of Afghans have migrated to Germany, making it home to the largest Afghan diaspora in Europe, with over a quarter of a million Afghans and their descendants living in the country.
